About

Hello, I’m Charlotte and Toad & Feather is my personal blog, mostly about life inspired by literature. I blog about books, Edinburgh, running, thoughts and pretty or interesting things I come across. I’m also a freelance arts writer and photographer. And I’ve written some poems.

I started this blog early in 2012 as a place to put photos I took of trips and things I got up to, and it’s grown from there. Sometimes you’ll see longer arts reviews and articles I’ve written as part of my day job, but I only include the most fun ones.

FAQs

How can I get hold of you?

To say hello, email char@toadandfeather.com or leave a comment.

Who takes your photos?

Mostly me, and sometimes my boyfriend. If they’re not taken by me it’s usually obvious, or I specify. I use a combination of a Canon 450D, a Nikon D300, and a Nikon F4 film SLR. But I’m also a shameless Instagram addict.

Who designed your blog header?

My very talented and lovely illustrator friend Jess Hart.

I’m coming to Edinburgh soon, what should I do?

For a first visit, I suggest a walk up Arthur’s Seat, a trip to the National Museums and a full Scottish brunch in Nobles, my favourite pub in Leith. Avoid tacky tartan shops! But you should check out The List and Edinburgh Spotlight for lots more ideas.
